Pappas Restaurants reopens the doors of their ?original? Pappas Bar-B-Q in downtown Houston after an extensive remodel. The location at 1217 Pierce and San Jacinto has been serving up slow-smoked Texas barbecue to Houstonians since 1967. The newly renovated restaurant features more parking, new booths, patio seating and a brand new drive-thru.
?We?re honored to restore this restaurant and further revitalize downtown Houston,? said Pappas Restaurants? owner, Harris Pappas. ?We?ve gone back to our roots and rebuilt our first restaurant. This remodel shows our commitment to keeping things fresh and exciting for our Guests.?
The new restaurant features a fresh, friendly and open environment for Houstonians. Complete with plenty of big screen TVs, a fresh fixin?s bar and a new open floor plan, the restaurant also features windows between the dining room and barbecue pits so guests can see the high quality meats being seasoned, fired and served all day long.
The location will be open for breakfast from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Monday through Friday and open for lunch and dinner from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday. On Sunday the restaurant will open at 11:00 a.m. and close at 9:00 p.m. Visit pappasbbq.com for drive-thru hours and more information.
?This new construction will make dining at Pappas Bar-B-Q much easier for those living and working around Downtown Houston,? said Pappas. ?Now they can dine-in for lunch and drive-thru to pick up dinner on the way home.?
Pappas Bar-B-Q offers a delicious menu of slow-smoked meats with homemade sides and beverages like sweet tea, bottled colas and assorted beers. Menu items include a variety of ribs, salads, baked potatoes and sandwiches, as well as breakfast tacos and homemade desserts.
This location was the first Pappas Bar-B-Q, formerly known as The Pappas Brisket House. Today there are 16 Pappas Bar-B-Q restaurants, family owned and operated, throughout Houston and one in Dallas.
